The price of Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) has risen by Tk 22.15 per kg to Tk 124.85 per kg, up from Tk 102.70 per kg in February.

Bangladesh Energy Regulatory Commission (BERC) announced the latest LPG price in a press release on Thursday, according to UNB.

The cost of a 12kg LPG cylinder has increased by Tk 266 under the new price, with a retail consumer paying Tk 1498 instead of previous price Tk 1,232 including VAT.

According to the BERC press release, LPG prices for other cylinder sizes ranging from 5.5kg to 45kg will rise rationally.

An official of the BERC said that the prices witnessed such a significant rise due to a huge increase in the Saudi CP (contract price).

The new prices will be effective from 6 p.m. today (2 February 2023).
